Spring on the farm is always a wonderful experience. Everything starts to grow, the grass and fields are turning green. New chicks arrive (laying hens and meat chickens). This year new calves will arrive in the summer. Not only is yard work a priority but growing vegetables and flowers and making the farm look beautiful is a favorite. I like setting out my old flower pots and filling them under the warm sunshine. The spring air makes me feel alive! Stopping to watch the cows graze and play and taking long walks through the woods is a part of my day that I look forward to. Sunrise and sunsets on the farm are something I never tire from. Drinking morning coffee on the deck, watching the laying hens find bugs and chase each other are such a joy. I love being outside all day and hearing the birds sing. At the end of the day it is a good kind of tired. Feeling the warm fresh air, and tending to tasks around the farm are lovely ways to spend my day. Mulching the flower beds, gardening, and enjoying stopping staring at the farm coming to life makes me happy. I feel very lucky to be on the farm and enjoy all of the spring moments that are coming. I love working leisurely and not feeling a sense of urgency.
